For the past few years, Sarfaraz Khan has given some impressive performances in domestic cricket. His Ranji Trophy stats speak for themselves because of his average in each season.
As per reports, his fitness and disciplinary issues were the reason why he wasn’t given the chance to make his Test debut. But injury and the absence of senior players created a void and Sarfaraz was called in to fill it.
Sarfaraz finally received his maiden Test cap from India great Anil Kumble in Rajkot for the third Test against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. As the 25-year-old’s father, Naushad Khan, watched the cap ceremony, he couldn’t control his emotions.
Naushad had been working tirelessly for his son’s success and his hard work paid off. As soon as Sarfaraz received the cap, he ran toward his father, gave him the Test cap and his father kissed the badge on it. Sarfaraz wiped the tears off his father’s face and hugged him.
