After rumors of a fight with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, a old heartwarming clip of Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been going viral on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Shaheen could be seen talking to a toddler and asking him whether he wants to become a player like Babar when he grows up.
A few days ago, Babar as per BolNews, reportedly lashed out with his anger at his teammates in the dressing room after the Asia Cup exit. Shaheen interrupted him and asked him to at least appreciate those who did well, which Babar did not like. Mohammad Rizwan and the head coach had to intervene to stop their argument. Babar then left for the press conference and after reaching the team hotel, he did not talk with anyone else.
But in the video that resurfaced on social media, Shaheen seemed to have ended the rumors of a spat with Babar. He was talking to a baby and asked him whether he wanted to play cricket before coming up with the question related to Babar. “Cricket khelna hain? Babar Azam banna hain? (Do you want to play cricket? Do you want to become a player like Babar Azam)” Afridi asked.

Pakistan senior player lambasts critics after rumours of a fight between Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi
A senior player recently revealed that all that has been said by the media is negative speculation. He opined that the critics are searching for chances to slam Pakistan by spreading rumors of a fight in the dressing room.
“The team’s sole focus is on cricket and we are not concerned about the critics. Losing a match gives our critics an opportunity to voice their opinions, but these are merely negative speculations,” the player told Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan started their Asia Cup campaign with an easy victory over Nepal. After a washed-out match against India, Pakistan thumped Bangladesh before losing to India and Sri Lanka in their last Super Four matches and eventually got knocked out of the continental tournament.
