The camaraderie between Indian and Pakistan players is growing by leaps and bounds it seems. Several pictures and videos of players from the two sides were seen exchanging warm wishes for each other on several occasions. And on Sunday (September 10) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pakistan paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi congratulated India speedster Jasprit Bumrah with a special gift after the birth of the latter’s first child.
Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan gave birth to their son Angad Jasprit Bumrah and to attend the birth of his child, Bumrah left Sri Lanka and flew back to India. Doing so he missed the group-stage match against Nepal.
He again flew back to Sri Lanka for India’s first Super Four match against Pakistan. The match was called off due to rain and it will continue on September 11th as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) declared an exclusive reserve day for the India-Pakistan clash.
After the match, Afridi and Bumrah met outside the field and the former bestowed the new father with a gift. Bumrah responded with a thank you. Pakistan Cricket Board‘s (PCB) X (formerly Twitter) handle shared the clip and in no time, the video started going viral.

Shoaib Akhtar opines Shaheen Afridi lacks arrogance
Ahead of the match between the two neighbors, former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar lavished praise on Shaheen Afridi. But according to the Rawalpindi Express, Afridi lacks arrogance.
“Shaheen (Afridi) is a great asset. But you know, the arrogance is missing (laughs). That’s all. I mean even if I was bowling under 135 kmph but I’d be cursing at 145 kmph! So that is missing,” Shoaib Akhtar said on ‘Wake Up With Sorabh’ (YouTube Channel).
