Shakib Al Hasan is one of the finest cricketers Bangladesh has produced but he often creates headlines for losing his cool on and off the field. One such incident took place recently. And when the video was uploaded on social media, it went quickly viral.

During a promotional event earlier this week in Chattogram, Shakib, who was surrounded by hundreds of eager fans to get a glimpse of the cricketer, could be seen getting irritated, and subsequently started beating a fan with his cap. Nothing could be noticed of the fan’s misbehavior in that video that drew such treatment from Shakib. The 35-year-old was later escorted away by the security guards.

On several occasions, Shakib found himself hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons. He was seen fighting with the umpires for their unfavorable decisions on many occasions. Even last month. He was last seen in action in the first match of the three-match T20I series against England on Thursday (March 9) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. He scored an unbeaten 34 runs to take Bangladesh past the target.

England, with the help of Jos Buttler‘s 67 and Philip Salt’s 38, put on a defendable total of 156/6. Later Najmul Hossain Shanto’s half-century knock, plus Shakib’s unbeaten 34, and contributions from Towhid Hridoy and Rony Talukdar helped them chase down the target easily in 19 overs to win the match by six wickets. The second T20I will be played on Sunday (March 12) in Dhaka.

Prior to the T20I, the two teams clashed in the three-match ODI series. England won the first two, but the host saved themselves from a whitewash by winning the third ODI by 50 runs. Shakib’s 75, Mushfiqur Rahman‘s 70, and Najmul Hossain Shanto‘s 53 posted 246 runs.

Shakib was the reason behind breaking the back of England. He dismissed the likes of Jason Roy, Phil Salk, James Vince, and Rehan Ahmed to complete his four-fer, and later his team bundled out the visitors for 196 runs in the 44th over.
