Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan share a close bond and have often pulled each other’s legs, involve in banter, as well as create hilarious videos. They were also roommates during their international duties. But their recent antic on the field left netizens in splits.

Ahead of the second Qualifier between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT), their bromance was on display to a great deal as both the openers embraced each other, though, in the most unconventional fashion. The videos and screenshots did not take much time to go viral on the micro-blogging platform.

Though Gill scored his third Indian Premier League (IPL) ton this season, it was a day to forget for Kishan who did not get the chance to bat due to an eye injury he picked up during the first innings owing to a collision with teammate Chris Jordan.

Talking about the match, MI had no answer in front of GT’s massive 233/3. Cameron Green (30 off 20), Suryakumar Yadav (61 off 38), and Tilak Varma (43 off 14) tried their best to chase the target but eventually lost the match by 62 runs. Mohit Sharma was the pick of GT’s bowlers as he scalped five wickets, conceding 10 runs in just 2.2 overs.

GT’s reaching that mammoth total is all due to Shubman Gill. The 23-year-old slammed his third IPL ton, hammering 129 from 60 balls with seven boundaries and a whopping 10 sixes at a monstrous 215 strike rate.

Now the defending champions will face four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the blockbusters final on Sunday (May 28) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
