AUS vs NZ

Australia and New Zealand locked horns at the Sydney Cricket Ground to get the eighth edition of the T20I World Cup underway. There are already several noteworthy moments in the match, which started off with an absolute peach of an innings from Finn Allen.

Kiwi fielder Glenn Phillips had the entire SCG on its feet after grabbing an absolute stunner to dismiss Marcus Stoinis. Chasing 200 runs, Australia were reduced to 50 for the loss of four wickets after Marcus Stoinis’ dismissal. Chipped in the air by the all-rounder, Glenn Phillips had to cover a lot of ground in the deep. The Kiwi fielder threw himself towards the ball with an incredible acrobatic effort to grab an absolute stunner.

Glenn Phillips’ stunner could easily be among the top contenders for the Catch of the Tournament Award. The Kiwi batter could not make much of an impact with the bat, scoring just 12 runs, however, he did make a mark after getting hold off an incredible catch.

Glenn Phillips is among the top fielders around, and this is not the first time he has grabbed catches of this sort. Nevertheless, this one will sit among his top dismissals given the magnitude of the fixture.

Like always, New Zealand have started the tournament on the strong note, posting a total of 200 runs in the first innings. The Kiwis have come out second in their last two limited overs ICC tournaments, losing to England in 2019 and Australia last year. Can the Black Caps go all the way this time around?
