WATCH: Steve Smith smashes six; immediately tells umpire to give no-ball
Steve Smith
Australia star batter Steve Smith smashed his first ODI ton in nearly two years and helped Australia in clean-sweeping New Zealand in the third and final ODI at the Cazaly Cricket Stadium in Cairns.
During his knock, he showed game awareness as in the 38 over, Smith smashed Jimmy Neesham for a six. He them immediately reminded the umpires about the number of fielders outside the 30-yard circle. It was then given a no-ball by the umpire.
Notably, a maximum of four fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle between overs 11 and 40 in ODI format.

Steve Smith‘s century helped Aussie skipper Aaron Finch a winning send-off with a 25-run victory in the final ODI. Smith’s masterful 105 off 131 balls helped the host post 267/5. The Black Caps were all out for 242 in the last over with bowler Mitchell Starc taking 3-60. Australia won the opening game by two wickets, winning the second game by 113-run.
“Had to take our time early, to give ourselves a chance and build a partnership. I was just batting simply early on, and didn’t think too much about it. And when I decided to take more of a chance, I was hitting with the wind. I think we have a strong total on the board,” Smith said during the innings break.
The Australian captain Aaron Finch also received a standing ovation from the crowd as the Aussie captain walked off for the final time in the ODI format.
