Rinku Singh and his six-hitting knows no bounds. Whenever India need finishing touches, Rinku stands up to the occasion and performs the difficult task, if not the miracle like in the Indian Premier League (IPL). During the second T20I against the Proteas, Rinku’s six smashed into the glass of the media box. This was after he scored his half-century off 30 balls. By the time he reached his fifty, Rinku had already accelerated his innings with three consecutive sixes off Aiden Markram’s delivery. One of the sixes left a huge crack in the media box, and right after the incident, rain stopped the match for a while.

BCCI manager feels lucky ball hit glass panel

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) manager Rajal Arora and media manager Moulin Parikh were sitting at the media box with the latter saying those people sitting there were lucky that the ball hit the glass panel. When the anchor asked the other “survivors” what they thought about the six, Rajal revealed that the window behind which they were sitting was the closed one but the other two windows were open.

We didn't anticipate it landing right here, because we thought that the ball might dip and go down. But the ball landed right here. As he said it was a close save. The other two windows were open and this was the only one which was shut. It landed on the glass pane. Yeah, we are fine.
Rajal told the anchor on Star Sports

When the broadcaster talked about the crack on the glass, former South African pacer Dale Steyn also expressed his wonder at the way Rinku played and also praised that shot. But he thinks the incident may lead to some consequences, that someone in the eastern bay of Gqeberha won’t be happy with Rinku breaking one of their windows.
