In the match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, the latter’s Tilak Verma grabbed a spectacular catch to dismiss Dwayne Bravo on Thursday, May 12 at the Wankhede Stadium.

The experienced duo of MS Dhoni and DJ Bravo looked for partnership when CSK were six down to try to bail the team out of danger. Both the batsmen were going for singles and doubles but when Bravo tried an extravagant cover drive from full toss, around the off-stump from Kumar Kartikeya’s delivery.

Bravo attemped to place it abouve the cover fielder. He would have been successful but Tilak Verma jumped in time to grab it. Bravo then walked back out of disappointment.

There was no shortage of drama during CSK’s batting. First it started with Devon Conway’s dismissal who walked back after the lbw decision. Had he taken a DRS review, CSK’s result would have a different one. But DRS wasn’t available due to power cut at the Wankhede. Same happened with Robin Uthappa. Slowly like a pack of cards, CSK’s top order shattered.

But then came MS Dhoni, whose unbeaten 36 runs in 33 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours took CSK’s innings to 97.

The same story of falling wickets like a pack of cards would have happened for Mumbai too but with Tilak Verma’s unbeaten 34 off 32 balls, and Tim David’s quick cameo of 16 off 7, Mumbai Indians were able to win their third match of the season. They defeat CSK by 5 wickets with 31 balls left.
