Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad last night to keep their play-off hopes alive. One of the star performers for Kolkata Knight Riders was Tim Southee with the ball. The Kiwi player took two wickets to end with figures 2/23 in his 4 overs. The 54 run winning margin also boosted Kolkata Knight Riders’ net run rate in the positive to help them go 6th in the points table.

Andre Russel did well with the bat in the first innings to help Kolkata put an above par score of 177. The 34 year then also performed with the ball to get 3 wickets for his side. However, it was Southee’s performance with the ball that caught the fans’ eyes. Moreover, his superb display of fielding that helped KKR dismiss Rahul Tripathi to register their 6th win of the season.
