In the 1st ODI between India and Sri Lanka, pace sensation Umran Malik bowled the fastest delivery in the history of cricket. India locked horns with Sri Lanka on Tuesday (January 10) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Umran broke his own personal record when he bolwed in his 10th delivery (14th over). He clocked 156 kph and now tops the list of fastest delivery bowled in international cricket for India.
Earlier, Umran broke India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s 153.6 kph record when he bamboozled Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka in the first T20I. Also, Umran has clocked 157 kph last year while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Delhi Capitals. But Pakistan great Shoaib Akhtar bowled the fastest delivery in international cricket. He clocked 161.3 kph against England in the 2003 ICC ODI World Cup.

Umran Malik scalped the most number of wickets for India vs Sri Lanka
Talking about the 1st ODI between India and Sri Lanka, the former put on 373/7 in their allotted 50 overs after they were asked to bat first. Virat Kohli stole the limelight once again with his brilliant 73rd international and 45th ODI ton. Apart from Kohli, India skipper, Rohit Sharma added 83 runs, while Shubman Gill played a 70-run knock.
Sri Lanka did not have a fiery start courtesy of Umran Malik who broke the Lankan’s back by sending two top-order batters to the pavilion. He first got rid of Charith Asalanka in the 14th over, then sent opener Pathum Nissanka back to the pavilion in the 31st over.
In the 33rd over, he dismissed Dunith Wellalage for a golden duck. Overall, Umran scalped three wickets, the most for India, and conceded 57 runs in eight overs at an economy rate of 7.13.
