On social media, a video of Bihar’s Moin-Ul-Haq Stadium has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. The miserable condition of the stadium attracted considerable criticism because, at this place, home teams Bihar and Mumbai are playing their Group stage match of the Ranji Trophy.

At the stadium, a fan captured the degrading situation and uploaded the video on social media. In that video, people’s underwear and other clothes could be seen kept up for drying on the roof of what looked like one of the entrances to the field.

The stadium did not have an arrangement for seating as the seats were filthy. The area around the field was covered with weeds and twigs lay scattered here and there.

Venkatesh Prasad slams BCA after seeing the miserable condition of the stadium

After seeing how poorly the stadium was maintained, former India player Venkatesh Prasad slammed the Bihar Cricket Association for their irresponsibility. He questioned why the involved stakeholders could undervalue a respected tournament like the Ranji Trophy.

This is unacceptable. The Ranji Trophy is the premier domestic competition in India, and it's time all stakeholders realized it's value. Don't see any valid reason for the state association not rectifying this.

Not just the stadium, the Ranji Trophy match between Bihar and Mumbai also drew the attention of the fans. Two teams from Bihar turned up for the match due to a heated exchange between BCA president Rakesh Tiwary and secretary Amit Kumar.

And about the match, Bihar won the toss and chose bowling. Bhupen Lalwani scored 65, the most, for his team while Suved Parkar and Tanush Kotian scored 50 runs each. Veer Pratap Singh’s fifer helped Mumbai bundle out the hosts for 251 runs.
