The ongoing season of the IPL has been widely considered as MS Dhoni’s last one. Because of this rumor, be it Chinnaswamy Stadium or Eden Gardens, or any other venue, ‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ chants and a sea of yellow grab everyone’s attention. CSK’s home, the Chepauk Stadium also gets filled with fans during the team’s practice sessions.

However, the 41-year-old, despite dropping hints about his retirement, hasn’t announced anything regarding the same. After CSK’s comprehensive victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Dhoni in the post-match presentation, said that the KKR fans wore yellow jerseys to give him farewell.

Reacting to the same, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris suggested that whenever Dhoni wants to announce his decision to retire, he shouldn’t defer it till the last moment because he deserves a farewell.

I think he wouldn’t be playing now if he wasn’t in love of being in the dressing room. I hope that whenever he decides to hang up the bat, whether it’s now, or next season or many seasons later, that he announces it because he deserves a farewell tour around the country,” Styris said on JioCinema.
