WATCH: “Urvashi, Urvashi,” Fans hilariously poke fun at substitute Rishabh Pant during Indo-Pak encounter
Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela
Rishabh Pant is among the popular stars in the Indian Cricket Team at the moment. The dashing left-handed batter has remained in the headlines over the past couple of months, given his relationship with Bollywood Actress Urvashi Rautela. The duo were rumored to be dating some time back in the past, however, no such official confirmation has been made by the Indian cricketer.
Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela are certainly not on good terms at the moment, with the duo taking jibes at each another on social media. The Indian actress is often spotted in the stands during India’s encounters, most notably during the recently concluded Asia Cup.
Urvashi Rautela was among one of the 90,000 attendees for the Indo-Pak encounter at the MCG on Sunday. Unfortunately, Rishabh Pant missed out on a spot in the playing 11, as Dinesh Karthik received the nod ahead of him. The wicket-keeper was however subject to some poking from the Indian fans, who chanted ‘Urvashi, Urvashi’ when he was at the boundary ropes.
Rishabh Pant patiently awaits his chance in the playing 11 for the T20I World Cup
The situation involving Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela has been going on for some time now. The latter’s social media posts make it obvious that she follows the cricketer around the globe. Despite provocation from the fans, Pant maintained his composure and ignored the chants.
Rishabh Pant will be desperate to feature in the playing 11 for Team India at some point later in the tournament. The Men in Blue went ahead with Dinesh Karthik as their number one wicket-keeper for the clash against Pakistan, and he is expected to continue in the same role for a couple of matches.
Rishabh Pant is also a strong contender to open the innings with captain Rohit Sharma if KL Rahul does not score big in the upcoming games. The left-handed batter is a pretty versatile campaigner, and can slot into the middle order or play the role of a finisher.
