Sarfaraz Khan is on a roll since making his debut in the third Test against England in Rajkot. He notched up two half-centuries in that match, but faltered in the fourth Test, before playing an impressive knock in the fifth Test. At the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, Khan smashed his third Test half-century on Friday (March 8).
Upon reaching his fifty, Khan was ecstatic. Raising his bat to acknowledge the teammates and coach in the dressing room cheering for him, Khan also gave a flying kiss to his wife, Romana Zahoor, who was present in the stadium and was clapping after her husband reached his half-century.

Meanwhile, Khan couldn’t convert his fifty to a century as he gave away his wicket to Shoaib Bashir with Joe Root grabbing the catch. The 26-year-old hit eight boundaries and a six to score a quick 56 runs from 60 balls.
Sunil Gavaskar unimpressed with Sarfaraz Khan’s shot selection
En route to his third fifty in the red-ball international, Sarfaraz Khan played a stunning ramp shot from a Mark Wood delivery. He also played a Rohit Sharma-like pull shot.
However, his shot selection failed to impress India great Sunil Gavaskar. The former India captain recalled the words of Sir Don Bradman to point out the flaw in Khan’s batting after his dismissal.
The ball was pitched up; it wasn't short enough for that shot. Go for it and pay the price. I mean you are playing the first ball after tea. Give yourself a little lighter. Don Bradman said to me, 'Every ball that I face, even if I am on 200, I think I am on zero.' And here is [Sarfaraz] playing such a shot for the first ball of the session.Gavaskar said on-air
India, meanwhile, ended the game on Day 2 at 473/8, leading by 255 runs. Sharma and Shubman Gill slammed their centuries, while three other batters, including Khan, scored their fifties. Kuldeep Yadav (27) and Jasprit Bumrah (19) will start the game on Day 3.
