Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) comfortably beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) as the two teams locked horns in the 27th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday. Meanwhile, RCB’s stand-in captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Glenn Maxwell were spotted playing ‘Rock-Paper-Scissors’ during the match.

The incident took place during the 11th over of the Punjab Kings’ innings. As PBKS’ wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma was given out LBW by the on-field umpire, he asked for a DRS. It was then Kohli and Maxwell decided to play another game.

As the umpires were reviewing this dismissal, Kohli and Maxwell were spotted playing rock-paper-scissors. The video of the same also started going viral on social media and soon it reached Maxwell. The RCB all-rounder then left a sarcastic comment that caught the attention of the fans.

Much-needed win for RCB

Coming to the match between RCB and PBKS, it was a great win for the Bangalore-based franchise as RCB beat PBKS by 24 runs. Mohammed Siraj was the hero for Bangalore as the right-arm pacer bagged four wickets in his four overs and that too at the expense of 21 runs.

Earlier, after being put in to bat first, RCB posted 174/4 in their designated 20 overs on the back of a century-opening partnership from Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. While the stand-in RCB captain scored a 47-ball 59, du Plessis scored 84 runs off 56 balls.

Kohli seemed pretty happy with this win over Punjab as he hailed his teammates. “Faf batted really well on that pitch. His innings ensured we had that 20-30 extra at the end. The pitch was very rough underneath, there was not enough water there I guess. There was hardly any sixes hit off the back foot against the spinners,” stated Kohli after the win.

“At the halfway stage, tha talk was to take the game to the opposition and you kind of break the game open when you pick up 4 wickets in the powerplay,” Kohli added.
