Former India skipper Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday today. He is currently in Australia, representing the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup 2022. A video has surfaced online, where he could be seen surrounded by sports journalists at the MCG in Melbourne to celebrate his birthday.

The Delhi-born cricketer was shocked at first and joked that they have never sent a cake to him, “You guys never sent a cake before,” and went on to express his thanks for this gesture. “Thank you! Very nice gesture. This is a historic venue and all the media people are here, so it’s a very nice gesture,” an overwhelmed Kohli could be heard expressing his gratitude to the journalists.

Kohli is in terrific form in the T20 World Cup. He recently became the highest run scorer of the T20 World Cup history, surpassing Sri Lanka legend Mahela Jayawardene. So far, he slammed three match-winning fifties in four matches.

He was dismissed just one time against South Africa, which was also the only match India lost. The three unbeaten fifties he slammed were against Pakistan, Netherlands, and Bangladesh.

As Men in Blue are eyeing a place in the semi-final, they will be wanting Kohli to keep playing like this in the marquee event. If Rohit Sharma and Co. emerge victorious in their final Super 12 match against Zimbabwe (on Sunday, November 6), they’ll qualify for the semi-final.
