West Indies wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva is a Virat Kohli fanboy. And now his mother met the ex-India captain after the game’s play on Day 2 on Friday (July 21) at Port of Spain in Trinidad. She hugged him, took a photo, and got emotional. The video of the same has gone viral on social media platforms.

On Day 1 of the second Test between India and West Indies, Da Silva behind the stumps could be heard asking Kohli to score his century. He also told the 34-year-old that his mother was coming into the stadium to watch him bat.

Kohli was playing his 500th international match of his career and slammed his 29th Test century (121 off 206). After the end of the game’s play, Da Silva’s mother met Kohli and failed to control her emotions. She planted a kiss on Kohli’s cheek before hugging him and later, took a photo with the Indian legend.

Joshua Da Silva’s mother wants her son to emulate Virat Kohli

The video was uploaded on YouTube by video journalist Vimal Kumar. He interviewed Joshua Da Silva’s mother about her interaction with Virat Kohli later.

Da Silva’s mother confessed that she came to watch the match only because of Kohli, and joked that she didn’t come to see her son as she sees him every day. She praised Kohli for being a wonderful, beautiful, and blessed human being, expressing hopes that her son emulates him.

Kohli is one of the best batsmen in our lifetime. So it is an honor for me to meet him and my son to be on the same field as him,” she said in a video shared by the journalist.

Meanwhile, India posted 438 in their first innings with Kohli scoring the most for the team. Rohit Sharma was second on the list with 80 runs, followed by Ravindra’s Jadeja’s 61 and Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s 57. West Indies started their innings and will resume things from 86/1 on Day 3.
