As fans are miserably waiting for the high-profile India vs Pakistan clash, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 28, they also want to see former India captain Virat Kohli get back in form.

Kohli has been seen doing his homework with full concentration. In one of Team India’s practice session in Dubai, Kohli surprised everyone by playing a reverse sweep that looked a lot like Australian power-hitter Glenn Maxwell‘s reverse-sweep.

The 33-year-old might have picked the style when he and Maxwell represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League in 2022. Kohli timed it so very well when the ball flew off. The players and support staffs probably have never seen Kohli play this shot as they were all smiling after that.

It will be intersting to watch how this talismanic Indian batter will play his game in the Asia Cup. For him, 100s and 50s are mere numbers but that was before of his struggling to score the tons. His continuous lean patch might come to an end against Pakistan as he has a good record against Babar Azam‘s Men in Green.

Many former cricketers have opined about Virat Kohli’s poor form saying the Indian star batter now fails to instill fear for the opposition team. But Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan had rather a blunt remark on Kohli. He said that former cricketers are expressing their opinions because they don’t play anymore.

“They (the former cricketers) don’t play anymore, that’s why they think that he doesn’t instil fear. He is a legend of the game, he has performed quite a lot. Whenever he comes, you are a bit scared because he is a big player. We don’t want him to play a long innings against us,” Shadab said.

“I pray that he returns to how he was. He is performing good even now, but the standards that he has set.. they make it feel as if he is out of form. I personally wish that he scores a century; not against us, but against some team else in this tournament,” Shadab said before breaking into laughter.
