WATCH: Virat Kohli in full flow in nets ahead of important match against Delhi Capitals

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli was seen sweating it out in the nets ahead of the much-important game against Delhi Capitals (DC). The former RCB skipper was seen nailing the big hits in the nets. Kohli was seen playing all kinds of cricketing shots, ranging from pull shots and flick shots to on-drive and backfoot punches.

Notably, RCB are all set to host DC and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) within a span of three days. While the Faf du Plessis-led team faces DC on 15 April, the Southern Derby will take place on 17 April at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB will need to win one of these two games to not lose momentum.

Talking about Kohli, the RCB batter has started this edition of the tournament on a positive note. While Kohli scored a match-winning half-century (82*) against Mumbai Indians in the opening fixture, the batter could not convert a start against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and fell after an 18-ball 21.

In RCB’s last game, against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Kohli scored a half-century (61). However, RCB ended up losing the game as Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis scored blistering half-centuries.

Home ground not so homely for RCB

IPL returned to its old format where all teams play seven home and seven away games. This helps keep a balance and avoid any added advantage for any team. While most of the franchises have benefitted from this format, RCB have been affected negatively, especially over the past few years. With the pitch generally flat and the boundary dimensions smaller, batters have been benefitted while bowlers have been under the pump always. For example, in the last match, despite scoring 212/2, RCB lost the game.

RCB bowlers have struggled big time at this venue. It will be interesting to see how Faf du Plessis and Co. bounce back from the defeat against Lucknow.
