WATCH: Virat Kohli reacts after listening to Bhojpuri and Punjabi commentary on his batting in IPL 2023
Virat Kohli was made to watch the highlights of his batting in both these languages and as expected, the RCB batter loved every bit of it.
The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is different for so many reasons, one of them being the commentary in more than ten languages. As Viacom18 bagged the digital rights for the new cycle of the Indian T20 league, the tournament is being live-streamed on JioCinema. There are multiple commentary language options available for the users to choose from.
Among many options, two of the languages garnered the most number of viewers- Bhojpuri and Punjabi commentary. As both languages are spoken in North India, thousands of fans tuned in to watch the games in Bhojpuri and Punjabi and shared their experiences on social media. Most of these reactions indicated that this unique decision has worked well for the stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was made to watch the highlights of his batting in both these languages and as expected, the RCB batter loved every bit of it. Kohli was seen laughing his heart out while hearing Punjabi and Bhojpuri commentary.

Kohli making it count this time
While Kohli was seen enjoying the commentary in two different languages, the RCB batter has given enough opportunity to these commentators and the fans to cherish. After a horrible outing last year, Kohli has turned things around in IPL 2023 and is looking in good touch. The star batter has already notched up three half-centuries in four games and is looking hungry for more.
The former RCB captain also cleared his intentions after winning the Player of the Match award for RCB vs DC game on Saturday.
“I back myself to hit good balls and the best bowlers in the opposition. That’s how I motivate myself to play out there. Very happy to get two points. We kind of let it slip away last two games. For us to bounce back like this was very crucial. That was a different mentality and phase altogether (T20 World Cup 2016 semis). I was in a space where I felt I could hit any ball,” said Kohli at the post-match presentation.
