Virat Kohli is out-of-form and it is clearly visible from the way he his batting. He often gets dismissed on cheap runs. But, in the second ODI between India and England, Kohli scored 16 off 25 balls. It wasn’t just Kohli who scored less, but a combined batting from the team was the failure for India. India lost the match by 100 runs after Reece Topley’s 6/24.

The match was taking place at the historic Lord’s and the Lord’s Cricket Ground’s social media handles shared a video of Kohli walking down stairs to go out and bat. He was called pretty early because India captain Rohit Sharma faced 10 balls, only to get out on duck off Reece Topley. Kohli’s lean patch again became the talk of the town once he got out. Nevertheless, you can watch Lord’s Cricket Ground’s video below:

Former England cricketer Monty Panesar added some fresh twist to the Virat Kohli saga with a bold statement on BCCI. Panesar in his interview with the Times of India explained why Kohli remains undroppable by the BCCI.

“It’s like Cristiano Ronaldo. Whenever Ronaldo plays for Manchester United, everyone’s watching the football. Virat Kohli is the same. He has got a huge following and attraction,” Panesar said.

“Are BCCI under pressure too, regardless of whatever the result and role Virat Kohli has to play, to keep the sponsors happy? That’s probably the biggest question. They can’t drop him or afford to drop him because they’ll probably lose huge financial sponsorship,” he opined.

“From a financial perspective, other boards gained so much from Virat Kohli. But is Virat really good for the India side right now? But then would it mean at the expense of them not winning a T20 World Cup or a 50-over World Cup? That’s the biggest question at the moment,” the retired spinner asserted.
