During the morning session on Day 1 of the second Test, a video of Virat Kohli‘s gesture upon Keshav Maharaj‘s arrival at the crease for batting went viral. The match was played at the Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town on Wednesday (January 3) where Mohammed Siraj became the wrecker in chief.
As South Africa were losing wickets at quick intervals, Maharaj walked into bat. As he was walking, the DJ at the stadium started playing ‘Ram Siya Ram’.
Kohli was very relaxed while fielding. When Maharaj was coming to the crease, the 35-year-old welcomed him with Lord Rama’s ‘bow and arrow’ gesture. He repeated the action and then folded his hands.

Notably, the DJ always plays the Ram Siya Ram song when Maharaj comes to bat. During the ODI series, KL Rahul behind the stumps also told Maharaj that the DJ plays the same song when he comes to bat.
Virat Kohli smiles after Nandre Burger shows aggression
Virat Kohli was the highest run scorer for India in their first innings after India dismantled South Africa’s batting line-up. The Proteas got bundled out for a paltry 55 runs courtesy of Mohammed Siraj’s six-wicket haul. Kohli scored 46 runs from 59 balls with six boundaries and a six.
While batting, Kohli faced a delivery from Nandre Burger who had performed decently in the series. After hitting the ball, it went straight to the bowler and Burger instantly aimed for the stumps.

It looked as if he was threatening to throw the ball at Kohli just like Mitchell Johnson did back in 2014. Kohli, who is known for his aggression on the field, simply smiled at Burger.
