Former Australia bowler Mitchell Johnson is at the receiving end of intense criticism these days due to the column he wrote in The Western Australia. In that column, he launched a scathing remark on David Warner, questioning whether he fits in the playing XI of the Test team due to his form. Johnson had also lambasted the Aussie opener for deciding his farewell Test match because of his involvement in the 2018 sandpaper gate scandal that shook Australian cricket.
After his column became a talking point of the town, overshadowing even Australia’s sixth ODI World Cup victory in India, a video of Virat Kohli calling out Johnson is doing rounds on social media. He made those comments after Johnson hit Kohli’s body with the ball while attempting to hit the stumps during the Test series Down Under in 2014, where Kohli was playing one of his best Test innings.
At the press conference, Kohli did not try to mince his words while slamming Australia for calling him a spoiled brat. He said how he respects a few Aussie players but not Johnson.
I respect quite a few of them, but if someone doesn't respect me I have no reason to respect him (Johnson).Kohli said during the press conference
He added:
There were words in Adelaide as well where they said, 'No unnecessary respect for him.' I said, 'I don't need it. I am out here to play cricket, not to hear anyone's respect.
