Babar Azam’s men succumbed in front of the Indian bowlers, getting wrapped up for just 191 runs. Thanks to India captain Rohit Sharma‘s other half-century in this World Cup, plus a fifty from Shreyas Iyer, India chased away the target within 31 overs to come out victorious by seven wickets. Wasim Akram did not like the post-match camaraderie between the two players. He slammed Babar for asking for the jersey, especially after the humiliating loss to India.

That’s what I exactly said when I saw the picture (getting the shirts publicly, not privately),“Akrams said on a local TV news channel. “Today was not the day to do this. If you want to do it – if your uncle’s son has asked you to get Kohli’s shirt – then do it after the game in the dressing room.”

Virat Kohli scored just 16 runs against Pakistan

Unlike his previous innings, Virat Kohli couldn’t play a breathing knock against Pakistan. All he could contribute were some 16 runs from 18 balls.

Hasan Ali was the one to trap the talismanic Indian batter in the 10th over. Kohli tried for a fancy shot off a length ball from Ali and paid the price. The ball flew toward mid-on where Mohammad Nawaz did not fail to grab the catch. In the previous match against Pakistan, in the 2023 Asia Cup, Kohli turned into a beast to play a memorable knock of an unbeaten 122 runs from 94 balls, helping India post 356/2 on the scoreboard.
