WATCH: Nitish Rana’s wife gets chased and stalked while returning from work in Delhi
While the Delhi Police was not prompt in taking action against these two men instantly, they did arrest one of the two young men on Saturday.
In what comes as a shocking development, star Delhi cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Nitish Rana’s wife was chased and stalked by two men while she was returning from work on Friday night. Saachi Marwah, who is an architect designer, shared a video wherein two young men are seen chasing her car and threatening her. Marwah shared the video on Instagram and sought help from her followers.
According to Marwah, the miscreants on a two-wheeler began stalking and chasing her car while she was returning home from work. They then proceeded to hit her vehicle for no reason. When she tried to report the matter to the Delhi Police, she did not receive the help she expected.
Saachi expressed her anger and frustration on Instagram, writing, “Just a casual day in Delhi, on my way back home from work! These guys randomly started hitting my car! Just no reason, stalked and chased, and the police told me on the phone when I complained, ‘so now that you’ve reached home safe, let it go! Next time, number note kar lena’ (note the number next time), aye aye captain, next time, I’ll take their phone numbers also!”
Delhi Police catches the culprits
While the Delhi Police was not prompt in taking action against these two men instantly, they did arrest one of the two young men on Saturday. “One person arrested in a case related to stalking and harassment, registered at PS Kirti Nagar by Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana’s wife. The case was registered against two boys who tried to follow the cricketer’s wife on her way to Model Town,” said Delhi Police via ANI.
Saachi also acknowledged the action taken by Delhi Police as she thanked her followers for helping out. “Thank you, guys, for checking on me. Really, means a lot. The boys are school kids and arrested and they did it out of rage and under the influence,” wrote Marwah on her Instagram on Saturday. She also thanked Delhi Police and asked them to go soft as the boys might have learnt their lesson.
