Weather reports say that there is a 34% chance of rain at the start of the game, but a 79% chance of rain at Dublin at 5pm Irish Standard Time as well. There has also been a yellow warning for rainfall issued, which starts at 15:00 on 18th august to 6:00 on the 19th. This could affect the first T20I being played tonight, as rain could potentially delay the start of the game or worse, cause the match to be washed out.

This series plays an important role for both India and Ireland. With the T20I World Cup next year, this tour is a fresh start for India, with the Indian team being filled with new faces and batsmen Rohit and Kohli not featuring since 2022. Paul Stirling calls this series as their new adventure to the 2024 T20I World Cup.
