Everyone is talking about fake Pak Mr Bean; who is he? Know his hilarious history & how he is related to the Pakistan-Zimbabwe rivalry
Fake Pak Mr Bean
Fake Pak Mr Bean started trending right from the very start when Pakistan clashed against Zimbabwe on Thursday [October 27]. After Pakistan’s shocking defeat by just one run, “Pak Bean revenge” started trending. But who is this fake Pak Mr Bean?
Before the said match, a Twitter user Ngugi Chasura slammed the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) for sending a fake Mr Bean instead of the real Atkinson. He wrote: “As Zimbabweans we won’t forgive you…you once gave us that Fraud Pak Bean instead of Mr Bean..we will settle the matter tomorrow just pray the rains will save you!” When another user asked Chasura about the whole Pak Bean thing, the latter replied that fake Pak Bean allegedly stole people’s money.

For the unversed, the story goes back to 2016. A person named Mohammad Asif who looked like Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson) was called to Zimbabwe for comedy shows. He was called the “Mr. Pak Bean”. The show was a complete dud but the tickets cost $10 each. He didn’t perform in a solo act but alongside other local musicians.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe posted 130/8 after batting first and restricted Babar Azam‘s Men in Green to just 129 all out. It would be an insult to say the defeat was an upset to Pakistan as Zimbabwe, from the very start displayed a fighting spirit.
Sikandar Raza, the Zimbabwean all-rounder, yet again became the hero of the match. His scalps of Shan Masood (who had scored the most for Pakistan), Shadab Khan, and Hyder Ali fumbled Pakistan’s middle-order, while the danjerous opening duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who fell cheaply in this match, became a joke for the Twitterati.
In the last over, 11 runs were needed, then three off the last ball. Shaheen Afridi pushed the ball to the mid-on where Raza quickly picked it up, and threw it to the wicketkeeper Regis Chakabwa. He didn’t at first could catch the ball properly but dislodged the bails before Shaheen could complete the run and so Zimbabwe won the thrilling match by one run.
