KKR batter Rinku Singh’s hard work is finally paying off. The left-handed finisher was recently picked for the Indian side set to play in the Asian Games at Hangzhou later this year.
Rinku Singh impressed everyone with his batting prowess in the IPL this year. He marked his presence in the tournament after he smashed GT bowler Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes in an over to see his side home. He garnered immense love and support from fans and various members of the cricket fraternity.
In a recent interview, Rinku Singh revealed that Suresh Raina is his idol and that he always looks up to him. Rinku called Suresh Raina the ‘King of IPL’ and credited him for his constant support. He said, “Suresh Raina has been my idol. I am regularly in touch with him. He is the IPL King and he keeps sharing his inputs with me. He has helped me a lot in my career.”
Rinku also appreciated the help and support he got from Harbhajan Singh, “Bhajju pa (Harbhajan Singh) has also helped me a lot in my career. I am grateful for their support and whenever such big players talk about you, it motivates you to push yourself more.”
What has Rinku Singh learned from his idol over time?

This is not the first time Rinku Singh has mentioned that Suresh Raina is his cricketing idol. Both left-handers hail from Uttar Pradesh and possess hard-hitting abilities. Talking about Raina as his role model a few months ago, he said, “Suresh Raina has been my idol since the beginning and I follow him. He is a brilliant fielder and used to bat down the order, like I do.”
Fans are set to watch Rinku Singh in action at the Asian Games where CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the side. This is the first time that India will be fielding a side at the games. The tournament is set to begin on September 19.
