Why is Rohit Sharma not playing against Kolkata Knight Riders?
While Rohit Sharma was not named in the first playing XI, Mumbai Indians included two debutants.
Mumbai Indians (MI) fans were left shocked when Suryakumar Yadav walked out for the toss instead of their regular captain Rohit Sharma. The MI captain seemed nowhere close to the MI dugout as well. This further fuelled the speculations of Rohit missing the game due to an injury. However, Suryakumar Yadav was quick to clear all the confusion as the stand-in MI captain revealed the actual reason behind Rohit not playing.
Yadav revealed that Sharma has a stomach bug and hence he has opted not to take part in today’s game. “Rohit is out, he has a stomach bug,” said Yadav when Ravi Shastri asked about the MI captain. However, the interesting thing was that Rohit was named as one of the four substitutes.
Nevertheless, Rohit did not take the field as MI opted to bowl first. Rohit skipping a game after featuring in only three games triggered a few reactions from the fans.
