West Indies keeper Joshua Da Silva was chirping continuously behind the stumps when former India captain Virat Kohli was batting. His stump-mic recordings were heard by the fans and now the chat has become viral. West Indies and India are locking horns in the second of the two-match Test series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
Da Silva was not sledging the opponent batters or instructing the bowlers. A fanboy of Kohli, Da Silva rather requested the talismanic batter to score a century. Da Silva said: “Get your 100, Virat.” To this, Kohli said: “You’re obsessed with my milestones?” In reply to Kohli’s question, Da Silva said: “I know I am, I want you to get your hundred.”
Da Silva even told Kohli that his mother is coming to the stadium to watch him bat. “My mom called me and told me she is coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it.”
Virat Kohli has a chance to score his century
On Day 1 of the second Test between India and West Indies, Virat Kohli played his 500th international match. He has already slammed his half-century and has a chance to score his century as well.
Kohli is just 13 runs away from the three-figure mark. And if he is able to score his century, it will be his first one in an overseas Test match since December 2018.
Talking about the Test series, India are already leading by 1-0 after winning the first Test by an innings and 141 runs and has put themselves in another strong position in the second Test. They have scored 288 so far for four wickets (Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shubman Gill). Kohli (87) and Ravindra Jadeja (36) will open on Day 2.
