The most-awaited match of the 2023 ODI World Cup, India vs Pakistan, is all set to start on Saturday (October 14) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from 2 PM IST onwards. This will be their third encounter this year, after their two meetings in the Asia Cup. One of the matches was washed out due to rain and in the second one, India won by 228 runs.
The two teams will be going into the match on the back of their two victories in their previous group-stage matches. India hammered Australia and Afghanistan, while the Men in Green defeated the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
The two arch-rivals have met seven times in the ODI World Cup with the Men in Blue winning all. Pakistan will be looking forward to their first victory against the two-time ODI World Cup champions in the 50-over World Cup tournament.
The Ahmedabad pitch is known for assisting the batters more. The team bowling second finds it tough to stop the run flow. It was evident during the opening match between England and New Zealand. The Kiwis’ thunderous run chase denied the defending champions their victory.

And apart from the pitch, the weather condition is also going to play a huge role. This World Cup won’t be like the Asia Cup where the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) decided to play the two rivals on a reserve day after rain interrupted the Super 4 clash. If the match gets washed away, then both the teams will share one point each.
However, cricket fans can sigh in relief. As per Accuweather, there is only a 1% chance of rain with 2% of cloud cover. The weather will be hot in Ahmedabad as the temperature will hover around 36 degrees Celsius during the day. At night, the temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius. So the match won’t have any interruptions due to the weather.
