Women’s Asia Cup 2022: “The lone warrior”- Twitter reacts as Nida Dar’s half-century propels Pakistan to 137/6 against India

In the match 13th of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022, India women clashed against Pakistan women on Friday, October 7 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Pakistan scored a decent 137/6 in their allotted 20 overs with the help of Nida Dar’s half-century knock.
They got off to a flying start with openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen until the fifth over when Pooja Vastrakar dismissed the latter. Ameen departed after scoring 11 runs off 14 balls with a four. Soon Deepti Sharma dismissed Muneeba in the next over. Muneeba scored 17 runs off 17 balls with a four.
Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof then steadied their innings with a very slow knock of 32 runs off 35 balls that also included two fours. In the 16th over, Renuka Singh bowled a fuller and slower one outside off. Maroof looked to scoop it over fine leg but ended up chipping it towards the short third man where Rajeshwari Gayakwad grabbed an easy catch.
Nida Dar played an unbeaten knock of 56 runs off 37 balls, studded with five fours and a six at a strike rate of 151.35 helping her team’s score reach a decent 137/6 in 20 overs. Other batters, Omaima Sohail, Aliya Riaz, and Ayeesha Naseem failed to reach the two-digit mark.
Deepti grabbed three wickets and conceded 27 runs in her four overs. Vastrakar scalped two wickets and gave away 23 runs in her full overs. Renuka picked up one wicket, while other bowlers- Gayakwad, Radha Yadav, and Dayalan Hemalatha went wicketless.
