Rachin Ravindra had a splendid 2023 World Cup  campaign, scoring 578 runs with an average of 64.22. Before the 2024 IPL auction, many predicted he would be purchased for over ₹10 crore, but everyone was shocked when only three teams bid for him. 

The more shocking part was when he was sold for only ₹1.8 crore, with Chennai Super Kings being the lucky recipients of the star. They outbid Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings to acquire the services of the youngster for the 2024 IPL. 

Ravindra is an all-rounder, who bowls left arm orthodox. With CSK purchasing him, he can be useful at Chepauk, which heavily supports spin. He along with Ravindra Jadeja, Maheesh Theekshana, Moeen Ali and Mitchell Santner built their impressive spin attack.
