“Shubman Gill ko maine tagda kar diya hai”- Yuvraj Singh says Shubman Gill should be fit for clash with Pakistan
Yuvraj Singh reminded Shubman Gill how he played the 2011 ODI World Cup with cancer to inspire him.

Shubman Gill had missed the first two matches for India due to being diagnosed with dengue. He was reported to miss India’s match with Pakistan as well, but Yuvraj Singh is confident he’ll be opening the batting in the Narendra Modi Stadium.
While talking to ANI, Yuvraj Singh said he had reminded Gill how he had played the 2011 World Cup while battling cancer and he should play as well. “Shubham Gill ko maine tagda kar diya hai. I told him that I had played in the World Cup while battling cancer, so I got ready quickly to join the team. Hopefully, he will be ready for the India vs Pakistan game. When you have a fever and dengue it is really tough to play a cricket match and I have experienced that. So I hope that if he is fit then he will definitely play,” said Yuvraj Singh.
Shubman Gill is currently in Ahmedabad with the India contingent, He was training with the team and also shadow batted on the playing pitch. Rohit Sharma confirmed that Gill was 99% ready to play against Pakistan as well.

Sachin Tendukar would add Yuvraj Singh from the 2011 World Cup to the current ODI World Cup squad
In his latest Youtube video, Sachin Tendulkar was answering fan questions. When asked about Ravichandran Ashwin being added to the squad, he had nothing but praises for the 38-year-old. A fan then sent a question to Sachin, asking who from the 2011 ODI World Cup winning squad should be added in the 2023 ODI World Cup Squad.
The God of cricket had only one name in mind and it was the all-rounder from Punjab, Yuvraj Singh. “All eleven were good players, but the criteria has to be someone who has done well throughout the entire tournament. And it’s the Man of the Tournament, Yuvraj Singh,” said Sachin.
Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Yuvraj SIngh went on and gave India’s greatest individual performance in a World Cup. He became the first all-rounder to score 300 runs and pick up 15 wickets in a single wicket, while also picking up 4 man of the match awards, the most in a World Cup so far. In 9 matches he scored one century and four half centuries. Along with those runs score, he also picked up one fifer. For these performances, he was declared the Man of the Tournament.
