Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is unsure whether India will lift the ODI World Cup at home this year. India will be hosting the 50-over World Cup for the first time on its own and the tournament is scheduled to start on October 5 between last edition’s finalists England and New Zealand.

Yuvraj, the 2011 ODI World Cup winner, came to the chat show ‘Cricket Basu’ on YouTube. When he was asked about India’s chances to lift the coveted cup again, he said how concerned he is with India’s middle order.

I am actually not sure, to be honest, if they are going to win the World Cup, I can say like a patriot that India will win,” Yuvraj said.

The Punjab-born then expressed how it’s frustrating to see India not winning a World Cup. “I see a lot of concerns in the Indian team in the middle-order because of injuries. It is frustrating seeing them (India) not win a World Cup but it is what it is.

Yuvraj Singh feels the team composition is holding India back. He wants India skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid to pick the right playing XI for the upcoming showpiece event.

The 41-year-old opined that there is no issue with the top order but it’s the middle order which needs a lot of improvement. He cited Rishabh Pant’s example to suggest that if he comes to bat at No. 4 during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, he should be given the same position while playing for India as well.

Yuvraj doesn’t want to see any experiments from Team India during the knockout matches At the same time, he named Rinku Singh for the No. 4 position but for that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter should be given enough matches before the World Cup.
