Aakash Chopra shocked by Yuzvendra Chahal not being given a contract
Recently, the BCCI announced the central contract lists for the year 2023/24. While many focused on Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer not getting a contract, many overlooked that Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t get a contract.

Formerly having a Grade C contract, the leg-spinner was dropped from the current contract list. In the past year, he had not featured for India much and was dropped from the T20I team for Ravi Bishnoi. This had shocked Aakash Chopra, who spoke about it on his YouTube channel.
I am a bit surprised that Yuzi Chahal's name is not there. Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shikhar Dhawan - their names not being there, I can understand. Even Deepak Hooda for that matter. But Chahal's name is not there - what does that signify? It seems to indicate that they (BCCI) are looking in a different direction. This is a validation of the theory. He might have had a ray of hope, but it wasn't to be. His name is not there.Aakash Chopra on YouTube
In 2023, Chahal had featured in only 11 matches. There were two ODIs at the start of the year and 9 ODIs, with his last game in Indian colors being in August 2023. Now he regularly plays for his state team, Haryana, and also had a stint with English side Kent.
