After the conclusion of the 2023 ODI World Cup, the two finalists, India and Australia, are set to lock horns again, for a five-match T20I series slated to start from Thursday (November 23) in Visakhapatnam. India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who was not a part of the World Cup, did not find his name in the T20Is squad list. Reacting to the same, the leg-spinner took to X to share a cryptic post.

As expected, most of the senior players were rested for the T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav, who had a below-par World Cup in terms of his batting, is set to lead the side. Soon after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the squad list on social media, Chahal shared a post with just a single smiley emoticon.

Here’s his post:

After his ODI World Cup snub, Chahal, during an interview with Wisden India, talked about how he often feels bad during such situations, but as he understands that only a limited number of players are included in the squad, he tries to move on.

I understand that only fifteen players can be a part because it's a World Cup, where you can't be 17 or 18.
Chahal told Wisden India.
I do feel a little bad, but my motto in life is to move on. I'm used to it now, it's been three World Cups (laughs).

After the World Cup snub, Chahal played for Kent in the English Cricket County Championships. He is currently participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is playing for Haryana.

Many fans expected to see the inclusion of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal in the T20I series. Bhuvneshwar was overlooked despite a series of impressive performances for Uttar Pradesh. And as expected, Samson’s exclusion also triggered outrage on social media.
