Not Rohit Sharma! This star cricketer most tested for DOPING among Indian cricketers

India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja gave the most doping tests in 2023 so far, according to the data released by the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA). Jadeja gave three tests between January and May of 2023.
In total 55 cricketers (both male and female) gave the doping tests in the first five months. India’s all-format captain Rohit Sharma was not tested during the first five months, and neither was Virat Kohli.
On the other hand, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya underwent one test in April (Out of Competition) urine sample test. Amongst the 55 cricketers, half of their samples were taken ‘Out of Competition’. A total of 20 samples of these cricketers were taken when they were part of a competition.
Also, all of Jadeja’s tests were urine samples. They were taken on February 19, March 26, and April 26.
Rohit Sharma the most-tested Indian cricketer in 2021 and 2022
Although Ravindra Jadeja has underwent the most doping test in 2023, it’s India captain Rohit Sharma who gave the most doping tests in the previous two years. He gave three samples each year. On the other hand, Virat Kohli was not tested in 2021 and 2022.
Apart from Jadeja, other cricketers who underwent dope tests in the first five months are- KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mayan Agarwal, Mohammed Siraj, Ishan Kishan, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dinesh Karthik, Piyush Chawla, Ambati Rayudu, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, etc.
Also, only two women cricketers’ samples were taken in the first five months of 2023- India Women skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana. They were collected on January 12 in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Jadeja has been given rest from playing the five-match T20I series against West Indies. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also not part of the side.
