PCB announces Pakistan squads for upcoming tours to England and West Indies
Pakistan Cricket Team
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday have named the Pakistan squads for their upcoming tours to England and the West Indies. They will play three ODIs and as many T20Is against England starting 8th July till 20th July, before facing West Indies in five T20Is that will be followed by two Tests. They will fly to the United Kingdom after the completion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) which is scheduled from 9th-24th June.
Pakistan’s selectors have added four experienced players as well as a few young faces in the squad. Azam Khan, a 22-year-old hard-hitting batsman who represents Quetta Gladiators in PSL, is a newcomer in the T20I team.
Saud Shakeel, an uncapped player who missed the South Africa ODIs owing to injury, has also returned to the squad. Salman Ali Agha has been called up for the One-Day Internationals after losing his Test spot.
Selectors have recalled Haris Sohail and Imad Wasim to the ODI and T20I squads, while leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood, left-arm spinner Nauman Ali, and off-spinner Sajid Khan have been retained for the Test series against the West Indies.
Following a fantastic performance in South Africa, Fakhar Zaman was selected as an additional option for the Zimbabwe T20Is and has retained his position in Pakistan squad.
Yasir Shah‘s selection is conditional on his fitness, as he is still recovering from a knee injury that kept him out of the Zimbabwe Tests.
Additional significant selections for the Test squad feature Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah.
