“DK! DK! VK! VK!” Fans laud Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik as RCB clinch their victory over DC

Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik
Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 16 runs on Saturday, April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium.
DC had won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB looked frail when then top batsmen faltered. But Glenn Maxwell brought back the innings by hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes and scored 55 off 34 balls. But after his dismissal, RCB were 92/5.
In this season, RCB’s middle order has strengthened with the presence of Dinesh Karthik. Karthik did an impressive job of a finisher; he awed everyone with his 5 fours and 5 sixes and scored an unbeaten 66 off 34 runs, a much needed one. But he was also supported by Shahbaz Ahmed who didn’t lose his wicket till the end and played a knock of 32 off 21 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
DC’s David Warner started the innings with a fine 66 off 38 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes, before losing his wicket to Wanindu Hasaranga for an LBW. DC skipper Rishabh Pant smashed 34 off 17 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes but gave a catch to Virat Kohli. At the end, DC failed to add 16 runs.

“I have a bigger goal”- RCB’s Dinesh Karthik
“I think it is important from a top-order perspective that we contribute runs. We haven’t as a top order, but the other guys are doing so. Batting is tricky upfront, but the way Maxi put pressure back on them was vital. But to get 190 you needed special innings, and credit goes to the two boys Shahbaz and DK,” said RCB skipper Faf du Plessis at the post-match presentation.
“The way DK is playing at the moment, I may sound like a broken record, but he is playing the best he has ever. Obviously lucky to have him in our side. He is so clear, calm and composed.”
Meanwhile, Player of the Match Dinesh Karthik has admitted that he is working towards a bigger goal.
“I must admit that I have bigger goal. I have been working really hard. I have been trying to do everything to be a part of the Indian team.”
RCB are placed 3rd on the points table with eight points in six matches while DC fell to 8th position with their 3rd loss in five games.
