Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant fined Rs 12 lakh for DC’s slow over-rate against LSG

Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals’ captain has been fined for slow over-rate against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday, April 7 in Navi Mumbai. Under the IPL’s Code of Conduct, it was their first offence so Rishabh Pant was fined for Rs 12 lakh.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ Nitish Rana was also fined 10 % of the match-fee for breaching (IPL) Code of Conduct against the Mumbai Indians at Pune the day before yesterday but his exact offence is not disclosed. In that same match, Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah was also reprimanded for breaching the Code of Conduct.
“The Delhi Capitals have been fined after they maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on April 7.” Said the official statement.
“As it was the team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 12 lakhs.”

Rishabh Pant will face a ban if this offence is repeated
If Pant fails to main the required over-rate in the next matches, then Rs 24 lakh will be deducted from his pocket. At the same time, 10 players in his team will be fined six lakhs or 25% of their match fees.
But if the offences are repeated for the third time, then Rishabh Pant will be banned from a match and will be fined 30% of his match fees. Other players in the team will pay Rs 12 lakh or 50% of their match fees.
In the match between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, the former ended up on the losing side. DC posted a modest 149 for three but LSG’s Quinton de Kock’s 80 off 52 helped KL Rahul’s LSG snatch a thrilling 6-wicket victory and secured the second place in the points table with three wins in four games.
