The IPL 2022 season began on Saturday, with Chennai Super Kings facing Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener at Wankhede Stadium. Robin Uthappa hit the tournament’s first six against Umesh Yadav, flicking a delivery that strayed on his pads and cleared the ropes towards square-leg.

In the first match of the season, Chennai Super Kings took on Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl on Wankhede. Umesh Yadav got his team off to a good start, dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck in the first over. The pacers were getting a swing in the early overs. Following Ruturaj’s dismissal, Robin Uthappa batted at number three.

Against Umesh Yadav, Uthappa hit the first six of the IPL 2022. Umesh bowled a leg-side delivery to Uthappa in the third over of the innings. The right-hander made no mistake in capitalising on the opportunity, clearing the fence and heading for square-leg.
