Taking to Twitter, Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Ross Taylor who recently retired from international cricketer on Monday. The match against the Netherlands at the Seddon Park was the New Zealand cricketer’s last match. In his final ODI, Ross Taylor scored only 11 runs

“You’ve been a great ambassador of the game Ross! It was wonderful playing against you. The way you reinvented yourself over the years to adapt is an inspiration for all the young kids aspiring to be cricketers. Heartiest congratulations on a fabulous career.

“Thank you Sachin brother for your recognition. To get this message from my favorite player growing up is an absolute honor.” Ross Taylor responded to Sachin on Twitter.

New Zealand’s opening batsman Martin Guptill also shared his heartiest tribute to the 38-year-old.

“This is it; this is the last time we saw him walk out of the New Zealand team. It’ll be even more emotional when we wake up tomorrow morning and Ross is no longer going to be there. It will be touch, but we will have a good night tonight celebrating the Netherland vs New Zealand series. Rosco (Ross Taylor) is an absolute legend and all of us are going to miss him around the group. He has been phenomenal and absolutely lovely and hopefully we can catch up over the coming years.”

Before his final match Ross Taylor, accompanied by his three children was full of tears during the national anthem of New Zealand. Spectators at Seddon Park rose up and applauded him as he came to bat for the final time.

Ross Taylor had a successful international career and represented New Zealand’s in all three formats and amassed over 15,000 runs. He played his first international cricket in 2006 and scored 8,607 runs in his 236 ODIs and 7,683 runs in 112 Tests. His ODI score is the highest one in his country. He retired from Test cricket in January after a win against the Bangladesh in Christchurch.
