Shane Warne’s last tweet on Rod Marsh’s demise goes viral

The shocking news was heard this evening when one of cricket’s greatest players- Shane Warne – died of a ‘suspected heart attack’ in Thailand at the age of 52. But surprisingly he also tweeted on the same day about the death of his compatriot Rod Marsh to pay respects and condolences, just hours before his death on Friday.

Marsh, who, at his time was called the best wicketkeeper in the world. But unfortunately, last week Marsh had suffered a major heart attack and was in a coma and died of a heart attack on March 4 in Adelaide in Australia at the age of 74.

“Sad to hear the news that Rod Marsh has passed. He was a legend of our great game & inspiration to so many young boys and girls,” Warne wrote.

“Rod cared deeply about cricket & gave so much especially to Australia & England players. Sending lots and lots of love to Ros & the family. RIP mate.”

Following the death of these two Australians, current batsman David Warner wrote on Instagram: “Two legends of our game have left us too soon. I’m lost for words, and this is extremely sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Marsh and Warne family. I just cannot believe it. #rip, you will both be missed.”

Warne was one of the greatest players of the game was admired for his bowling style and charismatic personality.
The legendary leg-spinner took 708 Test wickets in 145 matches during their 15-years career, becoming the second player to have more wickets after Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken 800 wickets. He was also Australia’s former vice-captain, a member of Australia’s 1999 World Cup-winning team and has scored more than 4,000 international runs.

Warne also led the team of Rajasthan Royals to their first victory in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008.
