The extremely dire situation has led to several countries looking at India with grave concern especially due to the various acute problems that exist such as the shortage of plasma, oxygen and the unavailability of hospital beds.
At this juncture, a plethora of sportspersons and celebrities have been doing their bit to donate and contribute for COVID-19 relief in the country. Cricketers who took part in the now-suspended Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) have been one of the key said contributors.
Australian pacer Pat Cummins started it all off by donating USD 50,000 for the cause, encouraging others to follow suit as well. Soon, cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan, Brett Lee, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hanuma Vihari, Shreevats Goswami, Nicholas Pooran, Sheldon Jackson, Jaydev Unadkat and so many more came up with contributions.
