Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday (April 11) and the encounter lived up to its reputation, as far as the first innings is concerned. The defending champions have certainly arrived with the bat thanks to Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa who literally toyed with the RCB bowlers on the day. It was due to their knocks that CSK crossed the 200-run mark for the second time this season.
Shivam Dube scored an unbeaten 95 to take his team to 216/4 in 20 overs. Experienced Robin Uthappa also showed his class and scored 88 runs. Royal Challengers Bangalore greatly missed Harshal Patel who missed this match due to personal reasons. Dubey and Uthappa put on a massive 165-run partnership for the third wicket as every RCB bowler faced a dangerous batsman.

In the 22nd match of IPL 2022, today Chennai Super Kings is facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match, after being invited to bat first by Bangalore, the CSK team has scored 215 runs in the stipulated overs.
Chennai Super Kings stalwarts Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube put on a record partnership as the defending champions posted a mammoth first innings score against RCB at the DY Patil Stadium, desperate for a win. When CSK batted, they were down and out after two early wickets, but Dube and Uthappa put on the highest IPL 2022 partnership to take the team past. As Chennai took the RCB attack to the cleaners on Tuesday, the drop in the process surpassed their highest individual scores in the IPL.
As Chennai Super Kings were 36/2 in the seventh over, Robin Uthappa saw Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali depart early, threatening yet another low total.
Dube then launched the onslaught, bringing in a slew of big hits to pile on the runs, and was soon joined by Uthappa as they went after the spinners. Faf du Plessis changed things up by bringing on pace with Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, but the CSK batters continued to chase boundaries, with the latter taking a beating, conceding over 50 runs in four overs.
Both Uthappa and Dube reached their fifties and then went past their 100-run partnership, eventually putting on 165 for the third wicket, the season’s highest partnership. CSK put on 216 in 20 overs, the highest total of the IPL 2022, with Uthappa scoring a career-best 88 and Shivam Dube remaining unbeaten on 95.
