Gujarat Titans got off to a dream start in their opening match against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL). While it was Mohammed Shami who struck thrice in his first spell destroying the top order of the opposition, Varun Aaron also scalped a wicket in his second over courtesy of a splendid running catch from Shubman Gill to send back Evin Lewis.
In the third ball of the fourth over, bowled by Van Aaron Lewis, Lewis attempted to pull the ball but only managed a top-edged over square leg. However, we only had to travel 25 yards backward towards the rope before moving to complete the catch.
This is gearing up to be an action-packed game between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans. While the much-anticipated game is the first for both of these franchises in the Indian Premier League, it has only gone Gujarat Teams’ way thus far. Not only did they win the toss, but their strike bowler Mohammad Shami, gave them a breakthrough on the first ball of the match, dismissing Lucknow captain KL Rahul for a duck.
Shami then proceeded to remove the other opener, Quinton de Kock, before Shubman Gill produced a bit of brilliance on the pitch to remove Ever Lewis. In the third ball of the fourth over, which was bowled by Varun Aaron. However, Gill easily covered 25 yards running back towards the rope before diving to complete the catch.
