Windies legend Sir Vivian Richards is one of the greatest the game has ever seen. Hailed as the pioneer of power hitting, Sir Richards inspired fear in the mind of the bowlers back in the 1900s, a time when the bowlers reigned supreme.

With over 8000 Test runs at a strike rate of 86 and an impressive average of 50, the former West Indies skipper was indeed the best in the business. Of late, one might have heard many cricketers sharing their love for a cricket-loving nation like India and the special bond they have with the nation.

While cricketers are enthralled by the love they receive from the fans, Sir Richards found himself in love with a budding actress back in the 1980s, Neena Gupta.

Sir Viv Richards found the love of his dreams during a tour of India. He was married (although separated) at that time and had two children. The Windies skipper and Neena met at a party in Mumbai and sparks flared between them. Neena was soon pregnant with the baby of the legendary cricketer but marriage was off the table.

A child out of wedlock was unheard of in the late 1980s and Neena drew flack for her affair with Sir Richards. Yet the struggling actress decided to have the baby, Masaba Gupta and became a single mother at the age of 30 disregarding the stringent social norms back then.

At the age of 42, Neena finally found love in Vivek Mehra, a charted accountant from Delhi with whom she tied the knot in 2008. Masaba is a renowned fashion designer and has had a close relationship with her father. She shared that the family used to go on vacations when Sir Richards visited the country during his commentary days.
