“Stop moving the robot”- Steve Smith irked by a “Buggy Cam”, commentators shocked by the incident
Steve Smith
Steve Smith bat antics are well known to all, and he’s incredibly meticulous when it comes to pretty much everything while in the middle of the field. During the third Test at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Smith came out to bat early after his team lost the wickets of David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne during the third over of the series decider to left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi. As soon as he came out to bat, Steve Smith was looking in impeccable touch and played some glorious drives.
On the 11th over of the innings, the camera moved as Hasan Ali delivered the ball. The movement isn’t an issue normally as the camera is situated at deep mid-wicket. But Smith managed to pick the movement up and he gestured towards the person controlling the camera, saying: “Stop moving”. The moment also left commentators Robert Key and Urooj Mumtaz in splits.
A chaotic start to the third Test in Lahore has been resolved thanks to Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja
Australia won the toss and elected to bat on Monday in the third and final Test against Pakistan, with the batting-dominated series locked at 0-0. Pakistan made one change after an epic draw at Karachi last week, Fast bowler Naseem Shah replaced all-rounder Faheem Ashraf as Pakistan went with three pacemen and retained the two spinners, Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan. Australia kept the same XI of the Second Test Match.
As the visitors were falling apart to left-arm paceman Shaheen Afridi, David Warner (7) and Marnus Labuschagne (0) fell within the space of three balls. However, Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith put together a steady partnership to keep Australia in the match. At the tea break, Australia’s score was 145/2 in 54 overs with Khawaja and Smith unbeaten on 69 and 58, respectively.
